Watch Rumor Has It

Was the novel "The Graduate" based on true events? That's the question plaguing a newly engaged woman (Jennifer Aniston) in director Rob Reiner's 2005 comedy. She comes to believe her grandmother (Shirley MacLaine) and late mother were conquests of the man (Kevin Costner) on whom "Graduate" character Benjamin Braddock was based, so she sets out to find him and learn the truth. Kathy Bates also stars in the disappointing result, which is more titillating premise than rewarding follow-through.
