ASUS EeePC 1015PN goes on sale

If you are considering getting a netbook anytime soon then by all means take a moment to check this out. Today ASUS announced that their latest EeePC, 1015PN has hit the shelves. The 10″ device sounds like very much the device to get if you are into something extra portable yet nice performing.

ASUS EeePC 1015PN comes with a dual core Intel Atom N550 CPU, clocked at 1.5 GHz.

The Nvidia ION2 dedicated graphics with 512MB of its own memory makes sure 1080p playback is a breeze, while the HDMI and VGA ports allow you to turn the 1015PN into a home multimedia center. The Optimus technology seamlessly toggles between the on-board graphics and Nvidia ION2 depending on the performance needs.

Three USB ports, Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi b/g/n complete the device connectivity tally.
The 6-cell battery is good to last for 9.5 hours, which is quite impressive considering the hardware. There’s 1GB of DDR3 RAM on board (upgradeable to 2GB) and a 250 GB hard drive. You will also be getting access to 500GB of web storage for a year for no extra fees.

All this goodness weighs just 1.25 kg and costs south of 500 dollars at launch. Sweet, uh? Can’t wait for 1215N to launch too.

I was expecting a bit more than just to see my News Feed page right in the Skype window – Facebook chat would have been nice. Unfortunately, besides viewing the latest updates, you can only “Like”, comment and change your status.

Scosche Sneakpeek II Broadcasts Your iPod, iPad, and iPhone Videos to the TV

If you’ve ever wanted to show off that cool video you’ve got sitting on your iDevice, chanes are you’ve had to resort to handing said device around the room so your friends could watch it. Apple has never really conquered the whole exporting video debacle in a satisfactory way and even third party companies like RocketFish had trouble getting reliable, high-quality transfer achieved. That hassle may be a thing of the past now thanks to Scosche and the Sneakpeek II.

It’s basically a connector that snaps into the sync/charge port on your iDevice and has attachable Composite and component cables you can simply plug into your TV. While other devices have attempted this approach, none have worked as simply and smoothly as the Scosche device.

Samsung’s New LCD TV Features 3.8mm Bezels

There has been a lot of innovation in the field of LCD TV screens in terms of making them thinner and thinner. However, few companies have thought to tackle the other dimension (width.) Specifically, the width of the bezel (non-viewable “case” components surrounding the screen.) Samsung is taking the miniaturization fight to the bezel now and its new line of digital display screens are the current industry leader.

The new 55 inch screen (Digital Information Display—not a TV . . . yet) boasts full HD capabilities and a 3.8mm bezel on the top and left of the screen. That means when you slap two screens together, you get a total width of 110 inches with a minimal 7.6mm non-viewable line between the two. The bezels on the bottom and right are a little thicker at 5.7mm—a design concession to accommodate the other side.
