Optimistic teacher Will Schuester tries to inspire a group of ragtag performers to restore McKinley High School's glee club to its former glory and take part in a national competition. Of course, it would be an easier task if it weren't for the current stars of the choir: a nerdy soprano, a diva-in-training who refuses to sing back-up, a geeky guitar player and an awkward girl who struggles to suppress her stutter. Still, with two real talents in his sights, Will and fellow teacher Emma.
